The fearful dog has fur on its back – that when,
defensive bristles
Some plants have spines, which do protect - like
cactuses & thistles
Like the boy alone, and in the dark – to feel safe
stands by and whistles
Nations of the world – train massive armies and keep
stockpiling missiles
More weapons only fan fear’s flame - we need an, about
face
Instead of competing arsenals why not compete to save
our race
If what now exists - were unleashed - we’d all
disappear without a trace
This lack of concern for all life forms is really a
disgrace
There is no need for fighting - more than enough for
every need
Time the wealth was shared, so that all are well - and
put an end to greed
No more “survival of the fittest” - it’s over due that
all concede
Enter collaborate - no one left behind - therefore we
all succeed
Before, all in the world - can ever, know peace
Personal turmoil, for each one - must cease
Spirit of forgiveness needed – resentments release
Thoughts within our mind - we each must police
Speak out less - instead each other hear
Healing for all – made, the new frontier
If toward peace you desire - our world to steer
Once up – begin, with the one, in the mirror
