While at the Fire

Though fear exists by light of day
You’re left with feet that feel like clay
Come raise your thought to planes much higher
Where to you ask, why to the fire

The fire has power to hypnotize
In it’s warm embrace no need for lies
While sheltered by the dark of night
The fire can heal, make all things right

As wood transforms from form to flame
Share of your secrets, they’ll do the same
Begin by piling on your blame
Now stoke the flames with all your shame
The many masks of fear next name
No further need for these exclaim!

As purifying flames burn bright
Glowing images in the coals invite
The passion of your soul ignite
Experiences of pure delight

When first you sat to warm your feet
Then others joined you smiled to greet
If long enough you hold your seat
Your spirit guide you may just meet

The dancing flames cut through the chill
While time itself seems to stand still
Both past & present will instill
For you a vision to fulfill
