Forget Me Not

Daylight now shortened – still no need to rush
Look upon nature’s canvas – brilliance of the Mother’s brush
Flamboyant is her palette – the strokes bold and lush
The mix of textures – includes spectrum from crisp to plush

With open heart – set out in any direction
Leave that behind – which might occlude reflection
Behold a tapestry woven – with divine perfection
Where boughs become - arms of affection

Foliage once gave loving respite - from searing heat
Now a rainbow quilt - lay beneath my feet
Time in communion far more - than mere retreat
Exchange of breath - and a shared heartbeat

The call rings through - for greater connection
To the mind that’s open - will be found direction
The time approaches - for winter’s introspection
Which will give rise to Spring’s - glorious, resurrection
