Far From Shore

Upon the river of life – there are mysteries galore
Around hidden bends who knows what’s in store
Great satisfaction for they - willing to explore
Must abandon first - safety of the shore

Sure there’s rock and rapids that might toss you about
May at times take on water – reach destination in doubt
Isn’t there someway to first send out a scout
You may feel queasy wish to be let out

Sometimes paddling up stream others with current glide
Sometimes feel on the sandbar waiting for high tide
Much is possible between the banks so wide
Relax – let go – enjoy the ride

In shallow waters may scrape the keel
No matter with proper care – will heal
Clear, still, waters the path will reveal
Loosen your grip upon the wheel

Under crimson sky’s view seems ideal
Though when fog rolls in - it does conceal
A starlit night may actually reveal
That much of the journey wasn’t even real
